Apple Government Discount & Federal Employee Purchase Program

How federal employees, military personnel, and veterans access Apple EPP and Military Store discounts on Mac, iPad, and iPhone.

What is the Apple Employee Purchase Program?

The Apple Employee Purchase Program (EPP) is a personal-use benefit that gives eligible U.S. federal employees access to discounted pricing on Apple products. It is separate from agency procurement channels and is intended for individual purchases rather than office or programmatic buys.

Apple also operates a dedicated Military and Veterans Store with comparable pricing for active-duty service members, reservists, National Guard, veterans, and their immediate families. Both programs use ID.me for fast, secure eligibility verification.

What you can save on.

Mac

Federal employees and military personnel can access reduced pricing on MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac mini, iMac, and Mac Studio. Discounts are most significant on higher-end configurations and are updated seasonally.

iPad

iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad, and iPad mini are all eligible under EPP and military discount programs. Savings typically range from $50 to $100+ depending on the model and storage tier.

iPhone

Eligible buyers receive discounted pricing on current iPhone models, including unlocked devices. Government and military pricing can be combined with trade-in credits for additional savings.

How It Works

From verification to checkout in four steps.

01

Visit the Apple Government or Military storefront

Navigate to the Apple Store for Government (for federal employees) or the Apple Military Store (for active duty, veterans, and family members). Both stores are separate from the standard Apple Online Store.

02

Verify your eligibility

Use ID.me to verify your federal employment or military status. Alternatively, some agency portals allow you to verify using your .gov or .mil email address. The verification process is secure and typically takes under five minutes.

03

Browse and configure your device

Explore discounted pricing on Mac, iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch, and accessories. Configure memory, storage, and pre-installed software. Discounted AppleCare+ options are also available at checkout.

04

Checkout with your verified account

Complete your personal purchase with the discounted pricing applied automatically. Shipping and pickup options are the same as the standard Apple Store, and Apple financing is available for eligible buyers.

Personal vs. Agency

EPP is for personal use. Agency buys use contract vehicles.

The Employee Purchase Program and Military Store are designed for individual, personal purchases. If you are buying Apple technology for your agency, office, or program, you should use a government contract vehicle like GSA Schedule, SEWP V, or NASPO ValuePoint.

NLE Systems is an authorized Apple reseller and public-sector technology partner. We help agencies procure, deploy, and manage Apple devices at scale under the contract vehicles federal and state buyers already use.

FAQ

Apple government discount questions, answered.

Who is eligible for the Apple Federal Employee Purchase Program?
Current U.S. federal employees, including civilian agencies, military personnel, and some contractors with a valid .gov or .mil email address are typically eligible. Retirees and family members may also qualify through specific agency benefit programs. Eligibility is verified at checkout using an agency email or ID.me.
How much can government employees save on Apple products through EPP?
Discounts vary by product and program. Federal employees typically see savings on Mac (up to several hundred dollars), iPad (up to $50–$100+), and iPhone models. Exact pricing is displayed once eligibility is verified on the Apple EPP storefront. Military discounts through the Apple Store for Government are similar and also apply to veterans.
Do military and veterans get Apple discounts separate from the federal EPP?
Yes. Apple offers a dedicated Military and Veterans Store with exclusive pricing for active duty, reserve, National Guard, veterans, and their immediate families. Verification is handled through ID.me. Discounts cover the same product lines — Mac, iPad, iPhone, and Apple Watch — and are generally comparable to federal EPP pricing.
Can I use my Apple government discount for personal or only work purchases?
The Apple EPP and Military/Veteran discounts are intended for personal use. They are separate from agency procurement contracts like GSA Schedule or SEWP V, which are used for official agency purchases. If you are buying for your office or program, you should use a government contract vehicle instead.
How do I verify my eligibility for Apple government or military discounts?
Apple uses ID.me for identity verification. You can sign in with ID.me on the Apple Government or Military storefront, or verify using your government (.gov) or military (.mil) email address. The process is usually completed in a few minutes. Some agency-specific portals use SSO instead.
Does the Apple government discount apply to custom-built Mac configurations?
Yes. Eligible buyers can apply EPP or military pricing to custom-configured Mac models, including upgraded memory, storage, and chip options. Discounts are calculated against the final configured price. AppleCare+ and accessories may also be eligible for reduced pricing.
What email domains qualify for the Apple Federal Employee Purchase Program?
A valid .gov or .mil email address is the most common way to qualify. Some federal agencies and military branches also accept verified contractor email domains that are registered under the agency. If you do not have a qualifying email, ID.me identity verification can confirm eligibility using employment or service records.
How long does Apple EPP or Military Store eligibility verification take?
Most verifications through ID.me are completed in under five minutes. In some cases, additional documentation may be requested, which can extend the review to one business day. Once verified, your eligibility is tied to your Apple ID and remains active for ongoing purchases.
Can federal contractors access the Apple Employee Purchase Program?
Some federal contractors qualify if they are assigned to a government agency and have an approved agency email domain or documentation. Contractor eligibility is evaluated on a case-by-case basis through ID.me or agency-specific enrollment portals. Direct employees of federal agencies are automatically eligible.
Is ID.me required to verify eligibility for Apple government discounts?
ID.me is the primary verification partner Apple uses for both the Federal EPP and Military/Veteran stores. Some agency-specific portals allow SSO or .gov/.mil email verification instead, but most users will create or sign in with an ID.me account to confirm eligibility securely.
Can family members of federal employees or veterans use the Apple discount?
Yes. Immediate family members of active-duty military, reservists, National Guard, and veterans can access the Apple Military Store through the primary member's ID.me verification. Federal employee family access varies by agency benefit program and is typically managed through the employee's agency portal.
What happens if my Apple EPP eligibility verification is denied?
If verification is denied, ID.me will explain the reason and may request additional documents such as a recent pay stub, orders, or a veteran ID card. You can also contact your agency's HR or benefits office for an eligibility letter, then resubmit through ID.me or the agency-specific Apple portal.
